Carla Holder
Carla Holder, Research Director of SHERPA Institute since 2018, leading the global UN SDG Research Team, and a 48-year member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She earned her BA in Math and Chemistry at Cornell University and an MBA in finance and strategic planning from the University of Michigan (Ross). At General Motors, she worked as a chemist trained in Statistical Process Control and as a systems analyst overseeing capital spend systems. At Unilever, she supported finance across multiple functions, led capital management and Value Engineering/Value Chain Optimization teams, and trained engineering staff on capital request evaluation. She later handled financial analysis, investment planning, and procurement for an education management provider. Since joining SHERPA in 2018, she has led teams and trained recruits and certification candidates on CISR concepts, gathering and evaluating case studies for the UNSDG Corporate Guidebook Series.
