Biography

Emily Crawford is a Co-Author on the SDG4 Corporate Guidebook Team. She received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from DePaul University and a Master in Education from The University of Memphis. She is a licensed career counselor for both students and career changers and a CPLP – Certified Professional in Learning & Performance.

Emily is an avid teacher, trainer, educator, and coach and believes in lifelong learning and continuous skill development. With over 50 years’ experience in numerous types of classrooms, Emily remains committed to developing and delivering quality learning experiences that engage students, advance capabilities, and build future workplace skills.

An acknowledged leader in human capital management and development, she has provided strategic counsel to a variety of organizations in the design, development, and deployment of talent selection and retention, leadership development, and workforce performance solutions.

In her role as a Chief Learning Officer, Crawford realigned learning investments, built business plans for learning, and with a disciplined execution of measurable goals, she delivered returns on the investments. She utilized leading-edge insights to create the conditions for real learning and disruptive technologies to increase student access and efficiencies.

In higher education, Emily was a principal architect of recognized talent development initiatives and custom degree programs in various industries, including retail, wireless communication, banking, manufacturing, and hospitality. Emily is known for establishing a collaborative process between Fortune 500 companies and higher education to build talent capabilities. She was the principal architect for custom educational degrees designed to fill skill gaps and improve retention and productivity. These programs were recognized by Training Magazine and Chief Learning Officer Magazine as a gold and silver standard, 2010 – 2014 .

Emily is an advocate for SDG4 – ensuring inclusive and education for all. She has facilitated learning for students who easily acquire knowledge and build skills and for those who do not. She has seen evidence of the many factors that affect quality education, including accessibility, a safe environment, and lack of appropriate equipment and materials. Emily is honored to be a contributor to the UN SDG Corporate Guidebook Series and part of the SDG4 Team .
